Cet exemplaire correspond à la phase trois du monnayage d’Henry III, entre 1250 et 1272, la légende de droit se développe en “HENRICVS REX III” et le roi tient un sceptre.

ENGLAND - KINGDOM OF ENGLAND - HENRY III PLANTAGENET

(1216-1272)

Henri III (1207-1272), son of Jean-sans-Terre, married Éléonore, the daughter of the Count of Provence. He signed with Louis IX the Treaty of Paris in 1259 which put an end to the first Hundred Years War which allowed him to regain possession of Guyenne and Gascony. His son, Edward I, succeeded him.
