Très belle petite monnaie pour ce type, avec un droit et un revers bien centrés. Agréable patine de collection sur du bon argent non cristallisé

Commentary
La tête a les yeux formés par deux globules dans la volute des esses. La tête est surmontée de deux masses de cheveux ; même s’il s’agit d’une stylisation de la tête de face, elle est encore intelligible sur cet exemplaire. Le revers présente un beau sanglier à gauche alors que les monnaies avec ce type de droit ont habituellement un sanglier très stylisé.
Le droit correspond à celui du DT. S 3453 H mais le revers n’a rien à voir.

The Andécaves or Andes, whose territory extended north of the Loire on the banks of the Mayenne, occupied Anjou, which today corresponds to the departments of Maine-et-Loire and Sarthe. Their name is found in the city of Angers, the ancient Juliomagus. They are cited by Caesar in the Gallic Wars. Caesar (BG. II, 35; III, 7, VII, 4; VIII, 26). Ptolemy (G. II, 8); Pliny (HN. IV, 107).
