Obverse legend : QUE L’HOMME DONC NE SEPARE / PAS CE QUE DIEU A UNI // S. MATHIEU CHAP. XIX.

Obverse description : Les mariés agenouillés, vêtus à l’antique, face à face, se tenant la main droite, l’époux à gauche, l’épouse à droite. L’homme lève la main gauche pour prêter serment sur le livre ouvert qui est appuyé sur la croix de l’autel situé en arrière plan, signé : PETIT F. à gauche.

Reverse description : Initiales gravées dans une couronne de fleurs.

Commentary

Cette médaille fut gravée aux noms des époux Champigneulle et Robe. Le poinçon utilisé sur la tranche (proue) indique que la médaille fut émise entre 1842 et 1845 mais ne fut utilisée qu’en 1872.
