Monnaie sur un flan particulièrement court, presque globulaire. Droit et revers confus mais encore identifiables

Obverse description : Restes de tête stylisée à droite avec une couronne de laurier transversale dont il ne subsiste que la barre de séparation.

Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Reverse description : Restes de cheval à droite avec les restes destructurés d’un aurige au-dessus; entre les jambes du cheval, restes d’une rosace.
Commentary
Ce quart de statère est du même type, mais pas des mêmes coins que l'exemplaire MONNAIES XV, n° 1195 qui semblait complètement inédit et non répertorié. Semble être un hybride ou une synthèse entre les séries "à la tête d'indien" et "biface" des Ambiens. Notre exemplaire est de poids lourd et il semble en bon or ce qui pourrait indiquer une série relativement ancienne.
Plusieurs provenances nous ont été signalées dans l'Aube.
