Semissis frappé sur un flan légèrement irrégulier. Quelques chocs sur la tranche. Quelques usures et faiblesses de frappe sur les deux faces. Fines rayures. Patine grise avec quelques taches sombres. Reliefs bien venus à la frappe

Historical background
CITY OF STRASBOURG
Strasbourg, at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century, played a great economic, intellectual and artistic role. The cathedral, whose construction began in 1277, was completed at the end of the 15th century. Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press, resided in Strasbourg from 1438 to 1447. The house of the Oeuvre Notre-Dame and the Kammerzell house were erected at this time. Strasbourg will find itself embroiled in the Wars of Religion which will devastate Alsace for more than a hundred years.
