ALSACE - COUNTY OF HANAU-LICHTENBERG - JOHANN-REINHARD I

(1599-1625)

The right to mint coins was granted to the Counts of Hanau in 1368, but the first coins were not minted until 1587 in the workshop of Wœrth-sur-Sauer. Jean René opened a second mint in Babenhausen. These two workshops were destroyed in 1632.
