Dimension sans la bélière : 54 mm. Faisons remarquer que l’objet est remarquablement travaillé. L’avers est une plaque présentant au revers le négatif du buste du maréchal. Le revers présente un opercule vitré pouvant se retirer et bloquant la fine plaquette gravée. Les deux plaques sont assemblées.
Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, prince de Wahlstatt, est un général et feld-maréchal prussien qui commanda l'armée prussienne contre Napoléon Ier en 1815. Il remporta la bataille de Katzbach en 1813 contre Macdonald et Sébastiani. Il était général en chef de l'armée de Silésie. C’est la bataille de Leipzig qui lui valut le titre de feld-maréchal. Il rentra en France en 1814, perdit contre Napoléon Ier à Brienne mais remporta les batailles de La Rothière et de Laon. Cela lui valut son titre de prince.
