Commentary
En 1866, un conflit oppose Autriche et Prusse avec pour enjeux la suprématie sur l’Allemagne. La guerre se solde par la victoire de la Prusse et de ses alliés. L’Autriche est contrainte de quitter la Confédération Allemande qui est dissoute. Une Confédération d’Allemagne du Nord est créée confirmant l’hégémonie prussienne, étape vers la création de l’Empire Allemand en 1871.
In 1866, a conflict broke out between Austria and Prussia over supremacy over Germany. The war ended in victory for Prussia and its allies. Austria was forced to leave the German Confederation, which was dissolved. A North German Confederation was created, confirming Prussian hegemony, a step towards the creation of the German Empire in 1871.
