(1716-1742)

Charles III Philippe elector of the Palatinate, Palatine of Neuburg, Duke of Jülich and Duke of Berg from 1716 to 1742, and Count of Megen from 1716 to 1728. His brother Johann Wilhelm, Elector Palatine died in 1716, he succeeded by the name of Charles III Philip. To strengthen the union between the branches of his dynasty, it unites 17 January 1742 her granddaughter Elizabeth Augustus to his nephew and heir Charles Theodore of Bavaria, and his sister Marie-Anne to Prince Clement of Bavaria. Member of the House of Wittelsbach, he votes at the expense of Francis Stephen of Lorraine, to his cousin, the Duke Elector of Bavaria Charles Albert at the Imperial election following the death of Emperor Charles VI. He died in December 1742..
