Historical background


GERMANY - JEVER

The Lordship of Jever is located on the North Sea coast. Coins from this seigniory are known from the 10th century. It is the property of the Saxon dukes before entering the 13th century in the bosom of Oldenburg. In 1667, it became a territory of the principality of Anhalt-Zerbst. On the extinction of the family in 1797. In 1807, Jeverland became the department of Eastern Ems attached to the Kingdom of Holland which was directly attached to the French Empire in 1810. Following the departure of the French in 1813, Jeverland joined the House of Oldenburg in 1818.
