Ce thaler dit “de la Confession d’Augsbourg” fut frappé uniquement en 1630. Il commémore le centenaire de la Confession d’Augsbourg du 25 juin 1530, journée durant laquelle les disciples de Luther affichèrent leur foi devant l’empereur Charles Quint et la Diète allemande.

(1615-1656)

John George I succeeded his brother Christian II in 1611, but with the title of august. He was at first allied with Emperor Ferdinand II, and he married the Protestant party in 1631 to return May 30, 1635, after the Peace of Prague, in the imperial party.
