Très bel exemplaire, légèrement décentré au revers. Beau portrait de Rome ainsi qu’un très beau bouclier au revers. Patine grise de collection avec reflets dorés

Reverse description : Jupiter, tenant un sceptre de la main gauche et brandissant un foudre de la main droite, debout à droite dans un quadrige galopant à droite, conduit par la Victoire (Victoria), tenant les rênes de la main droite et un fouet de la main gauche ; sous les chevaux, un bouclier.

Reverse translation : “Manius Acilius”, (Manius Acilius).

Commentary

Pour ce type, M. Crawford a relevé une estimation de vingt coins de droit et de vingt-cinq coins de revers. Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laisse apparaître D. Sear (RCV).
