Reverse description : Écusson ovale aux armes de la Ville, placé sur un cartouche, soutenu par les figures allégoriques nues et assises du Rhône et de la Saône laissant échapper l’eau de leurs urnes, signature D.V. et date 1749.
Commentary
Coin daté et signé au revers. Le Consulat offre à l’Académie des Sciences et Belles-Lettres des jetons à partir de 1735, une bourse puis deux de 120 jetons, enfin 300 puis 520 tous les deux ans. Le coin de droit est de Balthasar Gentot, artiste local. En 1749, un nouveau coin de Duvivier, daté et signé, remplace celui de Gentot.
