Commentary

Exceptionnel dessin original au crayon sur calque par Clément Serveau, du recto d'un projet non adopté de 500F pour la BAO. A gauche au crayon l'artiste a indiqué ses sources : "fille de Kindia" (Guinée), père Ouoloff (Wolof : ethnie du Sénégal, probablement pour le verso), haut de masque Baja (Baga, en Guinée). Sur son Blog, M.Buathier indique un autre essai avec un masque différent et une jeune fille plutôt triste alors qu'elle est souriante sur celui-ci. Format total 21cm x 16,5cm, dessin 18cm x 11cm. (Ce projet était très probablement destiné à l'Institut d'Émission de l'AOF et du Togo plutôt qu'à la BAO).

On the left, in pencil, the artist indicated his sources: \\\"daughter of Kindia\\\" (Guinea), Ouoloff father (Wolof: ethnic group of Senegal, probably for the back), Baja mask top (Baga, in Guinea). On his Blog, Mr. Buathier indicates another attempt with a different mask and a rather sad young girl while she is smiling on this one. Total size 21cm x 16.5cm, drawing 18cm x 11cm. (This project was most likely intended for the Issuing Institute of AOF and Togo rather than the BAO)
