Commentary

Pour une raison inconnue, dans quelques boîtes BE 1996, a été découverte une pièce de 5 francs avec la tranche striée et non lisse. Bien entendu, ceci met cette pièce d’une part au type émis, d’autre part avec une frappe extrêmement faible : 100, peut-être 50, donc de loin la plus réduite de la Cinquième République....
For some unknown reason, a 5-franc coin with a grooved, rather than a smooth, edge was discovered in some 1996 BE boxes. This, of course, places this coin on the one hand in the type issued, and on the other hand, with an extremely low mintage: 100, perhaps 50, thus by far the smallest of the Fifth Republic...
