Commentary

Cette monnaie est absente du FRANC et elle n'apparaît pas dans les registres de fabrication de la Monnaie de Paris. C'est en fait une pièce destinée à l'usage local et au commerce rhénan où elle était évaluée à 1,5 kreutzer. Elle est frappée avec les caractéristiques des monnaies du nouveau royaume westphalien de Jérôme Napoléon (1807-1813). Nous sommes bien en présence d'une espèce destinée à la circulation dans l'aire germanique car elle est en frappe médaille avec une orientation des coins à 12 heures.
This coin is absent from the FRANC and does not appear in the minting records of the Paris Mint. It is in fact a coin intended for local use and for Rhineland trade where it was valued at 1.5 kreutzer. It is struck with the characteristics of the coins of the new Westphalian kingdom of Jérôme Napoléon (1807-1813). We are indeed in the presence of a species intended for circulation in the Germanic area because it is in medal strike with a die orientation at 12 o'clock
