Commentary

Épreuve sur papier gris assez épais, avec talon. Le papier utilisé ressemble aux billets autrichiens de type "Formular" des années 1790. M.Buathier signale un autre exemplaire de même type mais en 500 Francs avec signature identique inconnue (voir site assignat.fr).
Proof on fairly thick gray paper, with a stub. The paper used resembles the Austrian \\\"Formular\\\" type notes of the 1790s. Mr. Buathier reports another example of the same type but in 500 Francs with an identical unknown signature (see assignat.fr website)
