Commentary
Exceptionnel.
Complete proof in black of the recto of the final type on unwatermarked paper with the first and extremely rare pair of signatures. This document was used to develop this model with two decrees; the test is in black since different colors will later be used depending on the counters. The margin bears the note in pencil 02-1896, which corresponds to the date marked on the specimen of this pair of signatures. The paper used to print this proof is a fairly strong paper, which takes the print very well and therefore allows for judgment on the smallest details and a perfect presentation. The sale of the archives of the American Bank Note Company yielded numerous proofs issued by this company - mainly during the Second World War - which were made on this type of paper, obviously used especially for presentation. Exceptional
