HENRI V Comte de Chambord

(1820-1883)

Grand-son of Charles X, Henry was born Sept. 29, 1820. He is the son of the Duke of Berry murdered February 13, 1820 by Louvel. On August 2, 1830, Charles X abdicated in his favor, but Henry follows his grandfather in exile in England and then in Prague. His mother, Marie-Caroline de Bourbon, trying to raise western France in 1832. His attempt fails. In 1833, Henry V was 13, it is considered major. After the fall of the Empire in 1870, the legitimist trying to impose the Restoration of the Bourbons to the throne of France. The restore fails because Henry refuses the tricolor, preferring the white flag fleurdelisé.
