Commentary
Le soulèvement national slovaque dure du 29 août 1944 au 28 octobre 1944. Alors que les armées allemandes reculent sur le Front Est, il vise le renversement du gouvernement slovaque pro-nazi de Stefan Tiso. Les insurgés contrôlent rapidement le centre du pays. A partir de septembre, les troupes allemandes reprennent l’initiative et finissent par éliminer des insurgés mal équipés et en sous-nombre.
The Slovak National Uprising lasted from August 29, 1944, to October 28, 1944. As the German armies retreated on the Eastern Front, it aimed to overthrow the pro-Nazi Slovak government of Stefan Tiso. The insurgents quickly took control of the center of the country. By September, German troops had regained the initiative and eventually eliminated the poorly equipped and outnumbered insurgents.
