Commentary


La ville d’Antep est occupée en novembre 1918 par les troupes britanniques puis par la France en décembre 1918. En avril 1920, des troupes irrégulières turques prennent la ville qui est alors assiégée par les troupes françaises. Les assiégés se rendent le 9 février 1921. Suite au Traité d’Ankara qui met fin à la guerre entre la France et la Turquie, la ville est évacuée et définitivement restiuée aux troupes kémalistes.
The city of Antep was occupied in November 1918 by British troops and then by France in December 1918. In April 1920, Turkish irregular troops seized the city, which was then besieged by French troops. The besieged surrendered on February 9, 1921. Following the Treaty of Ankara, which ended the war between France and Turkey, the city was evacuated and definitively returned to Kemalist forces.
