Reverse description : L'Autriche debout à gauche, tourelée et drapée face à l'Espagne debout à droite, représentée sous la forme d'un ange de la Renomée, soutenant chacun un écu, le premier aux armes de Léopold, le second aux armes de Marie-Louise.
Reverse translation : (l'amour naît de ce traité), (les noces ont été célébrées le 22 juillet 1765).
Commentary
Cette médaille a été frappée avant la mort de François Ier d'Autriche, le mari de Marie Thérèse, en 1765 à l'occasion de l'union de Léopold, archiduc d'Autriche et de Marie-Louise, infante d'Espagne. Après la mort de son père, Léopold va devenir grand-duc de Toscane et va partir pour Florence avec sa jeune épouse.
This medal was struck before the death of Francis I of Austria, Maria Theresa's husband, in 1765 on the occasion of the marriage of Leopold, Archduke of Austria, and Maria Luisa, Infanta of Spain. After his father's death, Leopold became Grand Duke of Tuscany and left for Florence with his young wife.

AUSTRIA - TYROL - FRANCIS I OF LORRAINE
(1745-1765)
François I (8/12/1708-18/08/1765) was the son of Léopold de Lorraine and Elisabeth Charlotte d'Orléans. He succeeded his father in the duchies of Lorraine and Bar in 1729. In 1736, he renounced his two duchies which he exchanged for the grand duchy of Tuscany (1736-1765) and the promise to succeed Charles VI of Habsburg after having married his daughter Marie-Thérèse (1736). He had a total of sixteen children including Joseph II, Leopold II and Marie-Antoinette, the wife of Louis XVI. He had to fight for five years to obtain the imperial title (1740-1745). Emperor, he remained dominated by his wife and died in 1765.
