Obverse description : Buste radié, drapé et cuirassé de Postume à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Caesar Postumus Pius Felix Augustus”, (Empereur César Postume Pieux Heureux Auguste).

Reverse legend : SERAPI COMITI AVG (LÉGENDE DÉGÉNÉRÉE).
Reverse description : Sérapis debout de face tourné à gauche, levant la main droite et tenant un sceptre transversal de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Serapi Comiti Augusti”, (À Sérapis Compagnon de l’Auguste).
Commentary
Poids très lourd. Imitation en bronze, antoninien ou double sesterce fortement stylisé. Type sans la proue aux Pieds de Sérapis.

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
