SAVOY - DUCHY OF SAVOY - AMADEUS IX

(1465-1472)

Amédée IX was born in Thonon on February 1, 1435 from the union of Louis de Savoie and Anne de Lusignan. In 1452, he married Yolande de France then, in 1465, he succeeded his father. In 1467 he went to war against the Marquis of Montferrat. He died in 1472, in Verceil, on the eve of Easter. His son, Philibert I, born August 7, 1465, succeeded him.
