Avec ce type de buste, nous somme en présence d’une production du Poitou, très certainement de Melle, mais Poitiers ne doit pas être exclu.

The Melle workshop, in the south-east of Deux-Sèvres, was important in the Carolingian period and seems to have been in operation from the Merovingian period. The silver-lead mines are still accessible and can be visited by a wide public.
