Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale bien centré des deux côtés avec le grènetis visible au droit, le métal légèrement pincé à 12 heures au droit. Très jolie petite tête de Jupiter au droit. Très joli revers de style fin où tous les détails du temple sont visibles. Belle patine de collection ancienne avec reflets mordorés

PETILLIA

(43 BC)

The Petillia gens is a family of plebeian origin. Petillius Capitolinus, one of its members, who is not to be identified with the monetary triumvir, is accused of stealing the golden crown from the statue of Capitoline Jupiter. He is judged. Being a friend of Octave, he is acquitted, as Horace reports (Sat. I, 4. 24).
