Obverse description : Tête diadémée d’Alexandre le Grand à droite, les cheveux flottants au vent.

Obverse legend : ALEXANDR-OU, (Alexandrou).

Obverse translation : (d’Alexandre).

Reverse

Reverse description : Rome nicéphore assise à gauche sur un trône, casquée et drapée, tenant une victoriola de la main droite tendue et appuyée de son coude gauche sur son bouclier.

Reverse legend : KOINON MAKE-DONWN BN (Koinon Makedonwn Beroewn).

Reverse translation : (La communauté des macédoniens de Béroé).

Commentary

Ce type de bronze est attribué à l’époque des Sévères et plus particulièrement celle d’Alexandre Sévère (222-235). Le type est directement inspiré par le monnayage de Lysimaque (323-281 avant J.-C.). Trou de centrage au revers.
