Léopold II is the third son of Marie-Thérèse and François de Lorraine (1747-192). He succeeded his brother in 1790. He had been Grand Duke of Tuscany since 1765. On the demi-sovrano, we find the titles of empire as on the sovrano of his brother Joseph.
