Obverse description : Victoire drapée à l’antique, tenant une palme d’une main et un bouclier de l’autre, assise sur des boucliers fleurdelisés.

Reverse legend : CONCORD. OF. THE. ALLIES // À L’EXERGUE : AVG. I. MDCCLIX.

Reverse description : Victoire ailée debout sur un globe tenu par les deux hommes cuirassés qu’elle couronnent d’une couronne de laurier.

Georges II (10/11/1683-25/10/1760) is the son of Georges I (1714-1727) and Sophie-Dorothée of Brunswick. He succeeded his father in 1726 and was also Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg. He left Walpole to govern until 1742. He was the first Hanoverian king to take an interest in England.
