Coup sur la tranche à 9 heures. Bel exemplaire parfaitement centré et couvert d’une jolie patine grise de médaillier. Nettoyage ancien sous la patine

Obverse description : Maximilien en pied, drapé portant la cuirasse aux armes de l’ordre teutonique, la tête tournée de trois quarts à gauche, tenant de sa main droite une épée ; à gauche, un écu sommé l’un lion, à droite un heaume.
Obverse translation : (Maximilien, par la grâce de Dieu, archiduc d’Autriche, duc de Bourgogne, maître de Prusse, administreur [des chevaliers teutoniques]).

Reverse description : Cavalier cuirassé à droite, tenant une bannière ; au-dessous un écu de l’ordre teutonique ; autour quatorze écus posés en orle.

GERMANY - TEUTONIC ORDER - MAXIMILIAN OF AUSTRIA
(1588-02/11/1618)
Maximilien, son of Maximilien II (1564-1576) and Marie of Spain (1528-1603), was born on October 12, 1558 in Neustdat. He is notably the brother of the emperors Rudolf II and Mathias, and brother-in-law of Philip II of Spain. He was appointed Grand Master of the Teutonic Order between 1585 and 1590. He died in Vienna on November 2, 1618.
