(1657-1713)

Son of Frederick William I of Brandenburg, Frederick III of Brandenburg (1657-1713), the last Elector of Brandenburg and first King of Prussia (1701-1713) known as Frederick I of Prussia, was one of the great adversaries of France during the War of the Spanish Succession. It welcomed many French Protestants after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
