Belle monnaie recouverte d’une épaisse patine de collection ancienne

Obverse description : Tête à gauche ; la chevelure figurée par trois rangées de points.
Reverse
Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Reverse description : Croix bouletée au centre, formée de quatre cantons ; un point aux 1er et 2e cantons ; une hache au 3e et un torque (?) au 4e.
Commentary
Ce type avec cette tête bien particulière semble totalement inédit. Le style donner à penser qu’il pourrait s’agir d’une série précoce.

The territory of Nitiobroges corresponds to the current territory of the department of Lot et Garonne (47). Several discoveries of treasures have taken place in this department: in Boé, Aiguillon, Montastruc and Moncrabeau. These "drachmas" by their typology and their metrology resemble more the coinage of western Gaul than the Aquitaine coinage. The weight is closer to the denarius system than to the drachma system. The typology is close to Santones or Lemovices.
