Commentary

La contremarque peut se lire comme un M sur A mais aussi comme deux colonnes encadrant un compas croisé sur une équerre. Si cette interprétation était la bonne, la contremarque ne pourrait en aucun cas dater de l’époque du jeton, la franche maçonnerie n’étant alors pas développée en France. Il faudrait donc trouver d’autres exemplaires de cette contremarque.
