Kenneth Kaunda est un homme politique zambien. Il participe activement à la reconnaissance politique des populations noires dans la colonie de Rhodésie du Nord, puis dans le cadre de la Fédération de Rhodésie et du Nyassaland. En 1964, il devient le 1er président de la Zambie indépendante et se maintient au pouvoir jusqu’en 1991 grâce à un régime de parti unique..

He actively participated in the political recognition of black people in the colony of Northern Rhodesia, and later in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. In 1964, he became the first president of independent Zambia and remained in power until 1991 under a one-party regime.
