Belle monnaie sur un flan centré, éclaté à six et huit heures. Au droit, un beau buste finement détaillé. Revers un peu plus usé mais agréable. Patine verte

Série lourde. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Le fait que Vétranion soit lauré, alors que Constance II est diadémé, semblerait confirmer une subordination du premier au second. Après le 25 décembre 350 et son abdication, Vétranion rentra dans la vie privée.

VETRANIO

Commander in Illyria, Vetranion, is immediately proclaimed after the death of Constans. Constantia, Constance's sister and Hanniballien's widow, convinces him to accept the purple. Magnentius tries to negotiate with Vétranion who finally rallies to Constantius II. He abdicated before the Emperor on December 25, 350 and retired to Prusa in Bithynia, where he died in 356.
