Commentary
A coin of the greatest rarity, which according to Dominique Legros is unique and constitutes the prototype of Vendôme coins with a head. This example comes from the Loiret treasure, is classified by Dominique Legros as Bouchard II the Venerable (958-1012), but could just as well belong to Bouchard I the Bat (930-958). Its style is close to that of Blois, which was kept in the Fécamp treasure and which is attributed to Thibault the Cheat (957/960-975-978). Four examples are reported in the study of the Loiret treasure
