Médaille avec un ruban jaune et blanc et surmontée par une barrette. Conservée dans un écrin gris timbré des armoiries papale, et avec à l’intérieur une feutrine et sois marron.

Une Année sainte ou Jubilé est, dans l'Église catholique romaine, une célébration ordinaire destinée à raviver la foi des catholiques et prenant place tous les 25 ans, exceptionnellement à d'autres occasions. Durant cette année, l'indulgence plénière est accordée à certaines conditions : confession, communion sacramentelle, aumônes ou autres bonnes œuvres et le pèlerinage de Rome qui implique la visite des basiliques majeures. Ces conditions sont généralement précisées dans la bulle d'indiction promulguée par le pape qui fixe également les dates d'ouverture et de clôture de l'Année sainte. L'Année sainte est donc un temps de conversion, de pénitence, de pardon et de rémission des peines temporelles encourues pour le péché. C'est aussi, par conséquent, une année de liesse et d'action de grâce.

A Holy Year or Jubilee is, in the Roman Catholic Church, an ordinary celebration intended to rekindle the faith of Catholics and taking place every 25 years, exceptionally on other occasions.
