Reverse legend : GLORIA RO-MANORVM/ M|*/F// BSISC.
Reverse description : Valentinien Ier debout à droite, détournant la tête à gauche, vêtu militairement, tenant de la main gauche le labarum chrismé et de la droite, un captif agenouillé.
Reverse translation : "Gloria Romanorum", (La Gloire des Romains).

VALENTINIAN I

Valentinian, proclaimed on February 25, 364, joined his brother Valens on August 24 of the same year. They share the Empire, Valentinian reserving the West. In 367, the Emperor named Augustus his son Gratian. Valentinian died on November 17, 375, leaving the West in great danger.
