Commentary


Jeton d'une école de charité de Paris, créée très probablement par Isabelle Jourdan, veuve de Théodon, sculpteur du Roi, en 1711. Destinée à l'instruction des filles pauvres, l'école fut transférée de la rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine à la rue de la Muette en 1719.
Token of a charity school in Paris, most likely founded by Isabelle Jourdan, widow of Théodon, sculptor to the King, in 1711. Intended for the education of poor girls, the school was transferred from rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine to rue de la Muette in 1719
