Commentary

La ligne Wotan est une ligne défensive construite en 1943 par l’Armée allemande entre la mer Baltique au Nord et la mer d’Azov au Sud. Elle sera rapidement percée en septembre 1943 en particulier dans la région de Melitopol.
The Wotan Line was a defensive line built in 1943 by the German Army between the Baltic Sea to the north and the Sea of Azov to the south. It was quickly breached in September 1943, particularly in the Melitopol region.
