Commentary


La Grande Offenvise est le début d’un mouvement offensif opéré par les troupes révolutionnaires turques contre les troupes grecques qui occupe une partie de l’Anatolie. Cela finit par l’incendie de Smyrne en septembre 1922 qui sonnent le glas des velléités grecques en Anatolie et condamnent à l’exil des centaines de milliers de grecs, d’arméniens et de micrasiates.
The Great Offensive was the beginning of an offensive movement carried out by Turkish revolutionary troops against the Greek troops occupying part of Anatolia. It ended with the burning of Smyrna in September 1922, which sounded the death knell for Greek ambitions in Anatolia and condemned hundreds of thousands of Greeks, Armenians and Mikrasians to exile.
