Bronze sur un flan irrégulier, mais avec une frappe centrée au droit comme au revers. Sont à noter une faiblesses de frappe sur l'arrière de la tête au droit et une autre sur l'arrière du taureau au revers. Patine verte

Ce type de bronze est très rare. Cet exemplaire est homogène, avec une partie de la légende du droit lisible, et celle du revers complète.

Historical background
TURONES (Area of Touraine)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The people of the Turons, settled on the Loire, left their name to Tours and Touraine. They are quoted several times in Caesar's Commentaries. They seem to have grown in importance after the disappearance of the Arverne empire in 121 BC. Like the Pictons, the Turons provided eight thousand men for the relief army which was to release Alesia. Their main oppidum seems to have been placed near the site of Amboise. Caesar (BG. II, 35; VII, 4, 75; VIII, 46).
