Paul Boyer (1864-1949) est un slaviste français. Professeur de Russe, il inaugure la première chaire de russe à l’École des langues orientales en 1891.(cf. Wikipédia).

Thiers was overthrown by the monarchists May 24, 1873 and replaced by Marshal MacMahon. The office of President shall be increased to seven years by the Assembly. The attempt to restore the monarchy in the person of Henry V fails because it refuses to renounce the white flag. Constitutional laws enacted November 30, 1875 will not be changed until 1940, they provide a relative political stability and spread the monarchical restoration. Legislative conflict in 1877, which opposed Jules Simon and the Duke de Broglie, to the advantage of Republicans. The World Expo 1878 held at the Trocadero. The phone made its appearance in Paris in 1879. Mac Mahon, in conflict with the Assembly, resigns ("comply or resign"). Jules Grevy was elected in his place. Gambetta becomes President of the Chamber of Deputies. The Prince Imperial, son of Napoleon III, was massacred by the Zulus in uniform English. July 14 is National Day in 1880.
