Commentary
Le carré de droit de de cette médaille a été gravé par Barre reprenant ceux gravés en mai 1849 par Gayrard (Launay, p. 234).Sur cette série Gayrard Sculpt est remplacé par Gayrard. Médaille attribuée en 1881 à Ernest-Léon-Zacharie Poictevin de La Rochette en tant que député de la Loire-Atlantique. Il naquit le 20 mai 1847 à Assérac (Loire-Atlantique) et décéda le 7 février 1902. En 1879 il se présenta après le décès de son frère, député de la Loire-Atlantique dans la 2e circonscription de Saint-Nazaire. Il fut réélu en 1881 et cette médaille lui fut remise à l’occasion de ce mandat. Un nouvelle fois candidat, il fut réélu sous le IVe législature (4 octobre 1885-14 octobre 1889). Il siégeait aux côtés de l’Union des Droites.
