TROAS - NEANDRIA

(4th century BC)

Neandria, located in the hinterland, on Mount Chigri, was located not far from Colone. Alexandria of Troad was created in 310 BC by Antigone le Borgne thanks to a contribution of populations coming from Cebren, Colone, Hamaxitus, Neandreia and Scepsis. The city was renamed Alexandreia in 300 BC after the battle of Ipsos by Lysimachus in memory of the great conqueror..
