Trajan was born September 18, 53 at Italica, near Seville in Spain, as his pupil Hadrian. It belongs to a family of settlers who settled in Spain. After a distinguished military career as the Flavians, he is consul in 91 and legate of Germania Superior when it was adopted by Nerva in 97 to succeed him.
