SYRIA - Seleucid Kingdom - ANTIOCHUS X EUSEBES Philopator

(94-92 BC)

Antiochus X, son of Antiochus IX Cyzicenus declared himself king after the death of his father Arados. He drove his cousin Seleucus VI of Antioch. After the latter's death in Cilicia (in Mopsos), it still had to face the two brothers of the previous Antiochus XI and Philip Philadelphus. These two captured Antioch in 93 BC Antiochus XI was killed in the Battle of Antioch. Philippe fled and was even joined by one of his brothers, Demetrius. Antiochus X was killed fighting the Parthians. He married Cleopatra Selene, the wife of his father and his uncle, who gave him a son, Antiochus XIII Asiaticus.
