Exemplaire sur un flan large, centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait inhabituel. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Très jolie patine de médaillier avec des reflets mordorés

Obverse description : Tête diadémée d'Alexandre II à droite entourée de la stemma.

Reverse description : Zeus nicéphore nu jusqu’à la ceinture, assis à gauche sur un trône avec dossier, tenant une Niké volant à gauche de la main droite et un sceptre long lotiforme ; la lettre grecque sous le trône est surmontée d’une étoile.

(128-123 BC)
Alexander II Zebina claimed to be the son of Alexander I. Ptolemy VIII urged him to revolt against Demetrius II Nicator. Demetrius was defeated near Damascus and momentarily left Alexander II sole ruler of Antioch, but he soon fell out with his Egyptian protector. Ptolemy then approached Antiochus VIII and offered him his daughter Cleopatra Tryphemus in marriage. Abandoned by everyone, Alexander was finally captured and sold to Antiochus VIII who had him executed in 123 BC..
