Exemplaire sur un flan large, parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait inhabituel. Revers bien venu à la frappe avec une usure superficielle. Une fine patine grise superficielle recouvre l’exemplaire

SYRIA - Seleucid Kingdom - ALEXANDER II Zebina

(128-123 BC)

Alexander II Zebina claimed to be the son of Alexander I.. Ptolemy VIII led him to revolt against Demetrius II Nicator. Demetrius was defeated near Damascus and left momentarily Alexander II the only master of Antioch, but he soon fell out with his Egyptian protector. Ptolemy then approached Antiochus VIII and offered him his daughter Cleopatra in marriage Tryphème. Abandoned by all, Alexander was finally captured and sold to Antiochus VIII had him executed in 123 BC.
