Obverse description : Buste désarticulé à droite avec l'œil ouvert, deux croissants évidés avec trois annelets centrés, une couronne de laurier.


Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Reverse description : Cheval libre à encolure fourchue et à queue trifide galopant à droite ; au-dessus, restes de l'aurige (avec un petit annelet dans la main) et globules ; entre les pattes, rouelle à huit rayons avec double moyeu central ; (à l’exergue, ligne surmontant des chevrons ; un petit annelet devant le cheval).


Cet exemplaire appartient à la classe III de S. Scheers et à la var. 3 de L.-P. Delestrée pour le type "à l'œil".
Belle variété avec un annelet pointé dans la main de l’aurige au revers.

Suessiones (near Soissons)

(Second - first century BC)

The Suessiones were important people of the Belgians, stationed on the Aisne in the territory of the province of Soissons. They had to close the Remi, Lingones the Senonian, the Parisii, the Bellovaci and Ambiens. According to Caesar, the two peoples and Remi Suessiones before the Gallic War, had the same laws and the same leaders. They had to clients Meldi the Silvanectes and Viromanduens.
